The Transport Contingency Fund (TCF) is a supportive initiative designed to assist GMB members who face financial difficulties due to motoring offences, such as receiving speeding or parking fines. This fund aims to alleviate the financial strain that such unexpected penalties can impose, ensuring members can manage these situations without significant economic hardship.
The TCF is available to all GMB members in the North West & Irish region for a nominal fee of an extra 10 pence per week on top of standard membership rates. This minimal additional cost grants comprehensive coverage for members driving anywhere in Britain, at any time, including weekends, and applies to both professional and leisure driving. This extensive coverage ensures that members have peace of mind regardless of when or where they are driving.
To be eligible for the TCF, GMB members must have been contributing to the fund for at least 26 weeks. Members are permitted to make one claim within any twelve-month period, providing a valuable safety net in case of a motoring offence.
