Menopause is a natural stage of life, but for many workers, it can bring challenges that affect health, confidence, and job security. At GMB, we believe no one should be disadvantaged because of menopause symptoms or the stigma that still surrounds the topic. We’re committed to creating workplaces where conversations about menopause are open, respectful, and backed by real support.

GMB North West & Irish region works with organisations like Menopause NI to share knowledge, resources, and best practice. Together, we campaign for progressive workplace policies that make a real difference, such as flexible working, better awareness training, and practical adjustments. Our aim is to ensure that every member feels supported and understood, whatever their experience of menopause.

Through toolkits, factsheets, and training, we help reps and employers understand the issues and take action. By smashing the stigma and promoting inclusion, we can make workplaces fairer and healthier for everyone.
