🚩 Reps Level 1: Building Your Foundation

Delivered by the Trades Union Congress and the Irish Congress of Trade Unions, this first-stage course is designed for new union reps. It introduces key concepts and provides a solid foundation to help workplace representatives develop the knowledge and skills they need to carry out their role effectively.

This course covers everything from understanding the role of a union rep to dealing with members’ problems and representing them with employers. You’ll learn how to make and use agreements, handle grievances and disciplinaries, and understand employment rights at work. We’ll also explore how to recruit members, keep them engaged, and communicate wider union issues confidently.

By the end of this course, you’ll have the confidence and practical skills to be an effective union rep. You’ll know how to meet with management, discuss workplace issues, and support members in a way that strengthens the union and improves conditions for everyone.

🚀 Reps Level 2: Activism for the Brave

Building on the foundations of the Reps Level 1 programme, this next stage equips trade union reps with critical knowledge, strategic skills, and bold analysis to transform workplaces and communities. Together, we’ll explore the challenges facing the trade union movement today, learn from global organising models, and study successful campaigns to understand what it takes to win.

This programme also focuses on leadership, giving you the tools to lead with confidence, courage, and clarity. It’s not just training; it’s preparation for action.
